Biography
My engineering career
began in 1971 as an apprentice in my father’s consulting mechanical
engineering office. I attended Tulane University and majored in mechanical
engineering and I graduated first in my class summa cum laude in
1978.
While at Tulane I received the William B. Gregory medal for Excellence in Mechanical Engineering. I was also elected to Tau Beta Pi, Phi Eta Sigma, and Pi Tau Sigma Honor Societies.
I worked in various locations and began Reuter Consulting Engineers,
L.L.C. in 2011. I
have worked on nearly one thousand projects since graduation including those
featured in the project section. My specialty includes the design of Plumbing, Fire Protection,
and HVAC systems for commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings. I
have worked on many different types of projects including offices,
hospitals, courthouses, prisons, banks, theaters, schools, hotels,
dormitories, condominiums, clinics, student unions, gymnasiums, houses,
restaurants, and churches. I have done much industrial work in refineries, manufacturing facilities, and chemical plants. I also do Forensic Engineering and Expert Witness duties for court cases.
I teach Mechanical Engineering Professional Development classes to a variety of companies. These classes include the design and description of various HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems encountered in my practice of mechanical engineering.
I am
a licensed professional mechanical engineer in the states of Louisiana,
Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida. I am also a LEED Green Associate.
I am
a member of ASHRAE and ASPE. I joined ASHRAE as a student member at Tulane
University and established the student chapter at Tulane in 1977. After
graduation I remained an ASHRAE member and was President of the New Orleans
Chapter in 1989-1990 and president of the Baton Rouge Chapter for 2014 to 2016.
I am
a native of New Orleans. I am married to Jewel Reuter. We have two great
